Funding Priorities

The Strategic Grants Initiative is focused on funding:

  1. Innovative or new Transformational programs for local at-risk populations that develop character traits which are determinants of future stability and success. These include grit, perseverance, empathy, and leadership, as well as vocational, life, and college readiness skills.
  2. Entrepreneurial programs that create a social enterprise or non-profit business, whether within or separate from the organization, that provides participants with employment opportunities and career training while also providing an additional source of revenue for the nonprofit organization, enhancing its sustainability.

SPECIAL GRANTS INITIATIVE

The DevTo Support Foundation has launched an invitation-only Special Grants Initiative for a small group of organizations in Orange County and the Coachella Valley. We are seeking new new ideas and transformational programs that create pattern-breaking social change to improve the lives of at-risk populations, such as at-risk youth or emancipating foster youth, at-risk young mothers or women, youth disconnected from their families and/or faith, people in recovery, homeless or formerly homeless families, or others who are struggling to succeed. The Initiative does not accept unsolicited proposals

GRANT AMOUNTS

Two to five grants ranging from $100,000 to $250,000 will be awarded each year for up to three years.

 ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The Applicant must be a public charity, organized under IRC sec. 501(c)(3), and qualified under IRC sec. 170(b)(1)(A), and operating for a minimum of two full fiscal years.

FUNDING PRIORITIES

The Foundation is interested in funding innovative ideas or transformational projects that help an organization

  1. launch a new program,
  2. significantly expand a successful program, or
  3. implement a new pilot project/model.

Programs that provide career development pathways, life skills development, mentoring and coaching, or create a social enterprise that teach participants business skills and entrepreneurialism while creating revenue for the nonprofit are of particular interest.
